I've seen a lot of films—two thousand six hundred nine films per my Letterboxd. To make myself seem interesting, I endlessly quote and make obscure references to Children of Men, In the Mood for Love and Before Sunrise. But from my favourite films, I am inspired by the on-screen sumptuous gowns and dapper garments. So when I decide to leave my darkened room, these films influence what I wear. Do I want to try and look like Alain Delon in Purple Noon, minus the sex appeal, or Takeshi Kaneshiro in Chunking Express, as I yearn for a lost love? If you see me, a piece of eye candy, walking down Queen Street, swaddled in a knitted jumper with rings on my fingers and a patchy beard, you have Al Pacino in Serpico to thank. So, this is a mood board of some of my favourite film outfits. I hope I haven't made any glaring omissions, but this is what inspires my fashion sensibility. Hence why, there are no bright colours or skinny jeans to be found. Only muted tones on tailored attire.
